eBooks and their eBoxes

I don't have an especially large book collection, but I do have a limited amount of space to store them in.  I'm also something of a packrat; it's hard for me to sell back books, especially the ones I like.  And I tend to only buy books I like.  I have boxes full of various books in my closet, and at one point I had boxes full of various books all over my floor because the shelves in my closet could no longer handle the stress.

I needed a eBook reader.

Ever since the Kindle first appeared, the idea of an eReader has been growing on me.  Amazon never quite convinced me, though, mostly because of their extreme lockdown on the books themselves.  When Barnes & Noble announced the Nook I was very intrigued.  A few weeks ago I finally picked one up.

Me likey.

I've just completed reading through my first full book on the device (Freakonomics, a perfect example of a book I never would have bought in physical form).  Thoughts on the nature of eBooks and how they are presented are swirling through my head.  With any luck, I'll be able to sort these out into something I can type up sometime soon.
